About the show
The Little Colonel Players present The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde’s most enduringly popular play.
March 11th, 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th at 8:00pm and March 14th and 21st at 2:30pm
The Little Colonel Playhouse, Mt. Mercy Dr., Pewee Valley, KY.
Set in England during the late Victorian period, The Importance of Being Earnest displays Oscar Wilde’s mastery of the social farce. The play’s humor derives, in part, from its characters maintaining fictitious identities to escape unwelcome social obligations. Replete with Wilde’s witty dialogue, it satirizes some of the foibles and hypocrisy of Victorian society. The Importance of Being Earnest is directed by Bill Baker, bill.baker@littlecolonel.org .
