HAPPY DAYS

About the show
Hayswood Theatre on Capital Boulevard in Corydon, Indiana, announces Happy Days the Musical opening on February 15 and running through March 3. Based on Paramount Picture’s lighthearted television series, Happy Days, the musical version, features the well loved characters from the weekly series. Gary Marshall who originated the television script has written the stage version, and Paul Williams has written the music and lyrics for this joyful, fifties, musical romp.

The year is 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Richie Cunningham is about to graduate high school, go off to college, and move on to the 1960’s. As the show begins Richie, his friends, and family gather at Arnold's malt shop, their favorite watering hole and welcome everyone to the grand state of Wisconsin. Soon, however, Arnold breaks in with bad news. A construction company has plans to turn his restaurant into a parking lot for something called a "mall".

Arthur Fonzerelli, otherwise known as "Fonzie," vows to save the day. Fonzie, with his former girlfriend, Pinky Tuscadero, and the gang will put on a highly competitive dance contest and wrestling match to raise enough funds to save Arnolds. Favorite songs include “Dancin’ on the Moon,” Message in the Music,” and of course, the well known “Happy Days” theme song.

Directed by Jen Anderson with musical direction by Daniel Suddarth and choreography by Rita Hight, the cast includes Hannah Aich, Bobby Anderson, Elizabeth Anderson, Eric Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Isaac Baumgartle, Kate Bedel, Sami Blair, Brooklyn Bruner, Blake Cox, Aleia Clarke, Emma Dayvault, Brennan Faith, Owyn Faith, Joy Farmer, Laura Grossman, Kira Hanger, Evan Hansen, Rita Hight, Rachel Lett, Megan McMonigle, Amanda Miles, Bailey Miller, Tiffany Miller, Brianna Norris, Jay Renfrow, Noemi Purchinger, Jessie Pursell, Justin Satori, Kevin Schulze, Kenton Shutters, Abigail Suddarth, Charles Swarens, Trinity Travis, Hailey Turner, Kayla Turner, Amanda Wells, and Lauren Wilkenson. Charles Swarens plays Arnold, and Jacquelynn Sandridge plays Fonzie’s former girlfriend, Pinkie Tuscadero. Jacob Smith is Richie, and Bobby Farmer is The Fonz.
