About the Show:
"THE EFFECT OF GAMMA RAYS ON MAN-IN-THE-MOON MARIGOLDS"
A Drama
By Paul Zindel
Winner of the 1971 Pulitzer Prize, the Obie Award, and the New York
Drama Critics Circle Award as Best American Play of the season.

Beatrice, an acid tongued woman supports herself and two daughters by
taking in boarders. One daughter, Ruth is pretty, but high strung and
subject to convulsions. The younger daughter, Matilda is plain and
shy, but has an intuitive gift for science. Encouraged by her
teacher, Tillie undertakes a gamma ray experiment with marigolds that
wins a prize at her high school. Proud and yet jealous, too filled
with her own hurts to accept her daughter's success Beatrice can only
maim when she needs to love, and deride when she wants to praise. But
as Tillie's experiment proves, something full of promise can emerge
from even the most barren, afflicted soil.

Jane McTeigue, a wonderful paper and 3D artist, is offering a service that
may be of interest to Louisville-based actors and theatres. Here's the
announcement she sent out earlier this month: "I wanted to let everyone know
that I do photo-retouching and compositing. If you have personal or
promotional images for print or web that need a little cleaning up... color
and/or light adjustment; background modifications: delete objects, add
objects, change background completely; get rid of hotspots, etc... you know,
plastic surgery... please contact me: janemcteigue@hotmail.com
