Drama Professional Development 6 Hours PD Credit
Saturday, July 25 9am-4pm
Join StageLab Principals for a six hour workshop that provides an overview of Literary Elements, Performance Elements, Production Elements, and Social Studies Connections.
Take back to your classroom resources, activities, and units of study to enhance your curriculum.
This PD is designed for teachers and media specialists who are relatively new to teaching drama or an Arts & Humanities Class in their school; also relevant for arts specialists and teachers certified in another art form who find themselves teaching drama units.
PD Fee: $100.00
Advanced Drama Professional Development 4, 8, or 12 Hours PD Credit
Literary Elements – *new schedule*
7/24 1:30-3:30 AND 8/1 1:30-3:30p.m.
Performance Elements – Monday, July 24, 9am – 1pm
Technical Elements – Saturday, August 8, 9am – 1pm
Join StageLab Principals for a series of 4-hour workshops that will provide you with an in depth exploration of the drama core content and program of studies. Increase your level of expertise and comfort in drama with these specifically-focused sessions; take one, two or all three workshops. Take back to your classrooms resources, activities, and units of study to enhance your curriculum. This PD is designed for teachers at the high school level. Also relevant for 8th grade teachers whose schools have an active drama program.
PD Fee: $75 per session. $200 for all three sessions.
Producing and Directing the School Musical, 6 Hours PD Credit
Saturday, August 1, 9am-4pm
• Will you be directing your first school musical this year?
• Are you a veteran of the musical process?
• Do you need some different approaches for this immense task?
• Do you have new collaborators this year?
Join StageLab Principals for a hands-on exploration of directing the school musical. Topics covered include: collaboration between director and musical director; conducting the audition; balancing book scenes, music, and dance rehearsals; acting the song; staging crowd scenes; staging combat to music; character development in words, song, and movement; and resources for selecting and designing your show.
PD Fee: $100.
Special Rate --$175 total for director and music director from same school!
